The Undercover Spy Lab

The Site – AirFrying.net

Flippa Listing - https://flippa.com/10286371-advertising-food-and-drink

Date Sold - 20th September 2019

Price Sold For - $37,920

Age of Site When Sold – 1 Year

Details – Here's a great example of a site that was purchased and boosted. They had it for a year and ramped up the traffic through branding and good content.

Keywords Targeted – It targets keywords related to air frying.

Backlinks – According to MajesticSEO there are around 600 new backlinks in total from 100+ referring domains.

What My Plan Would Be To Clone The Results – I would set up a brand new site using a domain name that had the words 'air fryer' in it. I would then create 1,000+ word content posts that target relevant keywords and place Amazon native ads on each page. I would most likely need to have 70+ posts on the site to become more of an authority but these can be added on an ongoing basis.

I would use social, Web 2.0 and PBN links to rank the site over the course of 12+ months. I would heavily focus on getting topically related and thematically related backlinks.

The aim would be to get to $1,000+ per month in profit and then sell for $30,000 - $40,000.

The Sniper Lab

The Sniper Lab is all about creating small 3-5 page websites that target buyer keywords with an Exact Match Domain (EMD).

You simply browse the Amazon marketplace to find products, then put those into the Google keyword planner and see what searches come up. Find one that gets 250+ searches a month that has a .com available domain and you're good to go!

You can use a free keyword tool like this one to get more accurate search volumes than the Google keyword planner now gives you.

These are really simple sites to make and each can make you 4 figures in profit when you sell them. They make great additions to add to your Amazon empire.

The Ranking Lab

Getting An Initial Boost

This months case study is a great way of getting an initial boost when starting off with a new site. And that's by purchasing websites and building on what they already have.

With the case study air fryer site, they probably paid a bit for it but you don't have to buy sites making money. Ones that have age (like 1+ year old) are great as they won't be sandboxed and you can start adding content and backlinks right away.

You can find sites and domains on Flippa which you can pick up for $50-$200 which will give you a huge boost and speed up the process of ranking and getting traffic from Google.

If you have the funds, then picking up sites already making some money is a better option to get a faster return. You just need to boost the traffic and earnings and you can flip for a lot more than you paid.

Just something to ponder, if you're tired of having to wait months for results from new sites 🙂

The Q and A Lab

Questions that have been sent in this month:

Q – How do I know how many words to put in my articles?

A – Just see what the competition has. View the top 10 sites in Google for your keyword and use a site like Word Count to see how many words they have on the page. Take an average of all sites and that's your goal. Although I would also add more words than the average.

Q – Do I need PBN's to rank?

A – It depends on the competition. You certainly don't need them, they just make things easier. But you can use outreach and guest posts to get highly related links which are just as powerful.

Q – Do I add all sites to Google Console?

A – No, I like to keep things separate and not connected. I will however add the sites I keep long term because it's a great way to find keywords to target and to generate content ideas.
