Welcome to the Training Area!

Below you'll learn why building an email list is the most important thing you can do when running an online business. And we'll also show you how to build one.

Why Build An Email List?

There are so many advantages for building an email list, here are some of the main ones:

An Asset You Control - Email marketing is one of the most effective ways to make sales in any business. Having a list of potential/current customers is the most valuable asset you can have. Unlike relying on third party platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn, your list cannot be taken away from you.

Almost Zero-Cost Marketing - The only thing you need to email your list is a autoresponder software (explained below). These start from just $19 per month and allow you to send unlimited emails to your list.

High Converting - Sending emails is totally different to paying for ads. Your list already knows you because they signed up to receive something for free. Therefore, people are more likely to open, read and click any links you add in your emails.

Segment Your List - You can split your list into various segments. You might have a segment for paying customers, one for people interested in a certain service or one for fellow business owners. By segmenting your list, you can send very targeted emails to get even better interaction and sales.

How To Build An Email List

The easiest way to build an email list is to give something away for free, in return for someone giving your their email address.

Things you can give away on your squeeze page:

  • Free reports.
  • Create your own mini-trainings. These can be video or written.
  • PLR products.
  • Cheatsheets.
  • Blueprints.

Email Types

There are 2 main types of emails you can send:

#1 - Broadcast Emails

Broadcast emails are one time emails that you send whenever you choose. You might have a promotion or have an update on your business. You simply type the email into your autoresponder software and broadcast it out to your list.

#2 - Autoresponder Sequence

An autoresponder sequence is different but just as powerful. It is a series of emails that are pre-loaded into your autoresponder software. You can set them to be sent out at intervals of your choice.

The sequence might be a series of tips, product recommendation or more information about your products and/or services.

It's possible to set an unlimited number of emails to go out at any schedule you choose.

Once people sign up to your list, they automatically start receiving your sequence of emails.

Email Writing Tips

A common method of writing email is by using the Hook, Story, Offer layout.

This is used in a lot of marketing and is hugely effective. You hook people in by using an attention grabbing subject line, keep them engaged by using a great story, then provide an irresistible offer to get them to click on links in your email.

Here are some useful tips to writing effective emails:

Subject Line - As just mentioned, your subject line is the most important part of your email. If people don't open your email, then they won't see your offer. And it's the subject line that makes that happen.

It needs to grab attention and also create curiousity.

Short Paragraphs - You want to keep paragraphs to a minimum size of 1-3 sentences. People don't like to read big blocks of text. By keeping your emails to 1-2 sentences per paragraph, it also means people won't skip through it.

Emphasize Important Points - Adding bullet points and bolded words is a great way to draw attention to the important parts of your email.

Font Size - Many people will read emails on their phones. Therefore, you should consider using a font size of 14 or above. You need to make your emails readable without the need to zoom in to read them.

One Goal In Mind - You don't want to confuse your readers by having multiple call to actions or talk about several different things. Have one clear action you want them to take and base your content around that action.

Driving Traffic To Your Squeeze Page

Once you have your squeeze page set up, it's now time to get people to that page. This is often referred to as 'driving traffic'.

Here are two ways you can use to do that:

#1 - Paid Ads

If you have a marketing budget, then you can pay for ads. Popular platforms like Facebook, Google and Bing allow you to target the audience that best suit your business.

Facebook ads allow you to be very specific over your audience, whereas Google and Bing allow you to target keywords people are searching for.

Some other forms of paid traffic you might want to consider include solo email ads, banner ads, display ads or social influencer ads.

#2 - Social Media

If you don't have a marketing budget, then you might want to consider using social media to get traffic.

You can create free content on all the major platforms including Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

Each platform works differently, but they basically allow you to add content relevant to your niche and then you can promote your free offer (squeeze page) to the followers you build.
