LinkedIn was founded in 2003 and primarily helps to connect businesses with job seekers. But it goes way beyond that with additional features and benefits they have since added.

It's 100% free to use and the site gets an estimated 1.3 Billion visitors a month.

With that number of visitors, it's easy to share content related to your own niche and syphon some of that traffic to your own website.

And we'll show you how to do just that below!

The first step is to sign up to the site. Simply head over to LinkedIn.com and create yourself a free account.

Once you have created your account, it's time to optimize your profile.

One of the easiest ways to drive traffic is to add content to the platform.

The two types of content you can add are:

Posts - Posts are limited to 3,000 characters and are ideal for updates, news and announcements. They will be shown on the feeds of your followers but don't get indexed by Google.

Articles - Articles don't have any character limits. These are ideal for longer, more indepth, pieces of content. They also get indexed by Google, so keep in mind to optimize them with keywords in your niche.

Similarly to Facebook, you can add connections on LinkedIn too. By growing your audience, it means more people will see your content and ultimately you'll get more visitors to your website.

You can join groups on LinkedIn that are related to your niche and get traffic to your own profile (and website).
